Delegation of the Rural Development Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (RDI CASS) at the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics - National Research Institute

On 29 September 2016, the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – National Research Institute hosted a meeting with a delegation of seven scientists from the Rural Development Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (RDI CASS), Beijing. The delegation was chaired by the president of the RDI CASS, Professor Honkai Wei. During the meeting the Chinese scientists got to know the achievements and research topics of the Institute, the farm accountancy system and tasks involved in fulfilling the role of the FADN Liaison Agency by the Institute. The meeting presented in greater detail the issues concerning the current status of and perspectives for organic farming development, current situation on the milk market, and production and economic results of family and semi-subsistence farms in less-favoured areas (LFA). The discussions covered also the possibilities of scientific cooperation between the RDI CASS and the Institute.
